PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
  • It is compatible with 1-16 ton forklifts such as EP Equipment and Noblelift, with a bore diameter ranging from 40-115 mm, rod diameter ranging from 28-60mm, rated working pressure from 9-16MPa, and stroke customized as needed. It is compatible with various forklift steering systems.
  • The cylinder is made of #20 steel with precision honed seamless cylinder and is equipped with robotic automatic full welding process. It can withstand high-frequency steering operation without leakage, and the steering action is smooth and precise without jamming or play. It has excellent fatigue durability and service life.
  • The piston rod is made of #45 steel plated with hard chrome, and offers a variety of surface anti-corrosion and wear-resistant treatment options such as Ni/Cr electroplating, laser cladding, and QPQ, making it suitable for complex working conditions such as humid, heavy-duty, and dusty environments.
  • We can design and match steering valves, limit devices, oil pipes and other related accessories according to your needs; the normal temperature range is -25°C to +110°C, and we support customization for special working conditions of high and low temperatures.

Hydraulic Assistance Matched to the Existing Steering Linkage

A forklift steering assist cylinder, also called a steering booster cylinder, adds hydraulic assistance to the mechanical steering linkage. It is not interchangeable with every cylinder called a steering cylinder: the required unit must match the truck's assist function, mounting points, available travel and hydraulic connections.

For an OEM project or a replacement, we review the cylinder together with the steering mechanism. Send your approved drawing or measured sample data so we can check the installation envelope, interfaces and circuit details before quotation.

  • Auxiliary hydraulic force for the steering linkage
  • Drawing-based configurations and replacement matching
  • Mounts, stroke, ports and installation orientation reviewed together

Selection guide

What to Confirm Before Replacing a Steering Booster Cylinder

Do not select a replacement from the product name or outside appearance alone. Confirm how the booster connects to the steering linkage and hydraulic circuit.

ItemWhat to provideWhy it matters
Assist functionTruck model, steering layout and the cylinder's role in the mechanismSeparates a booster or assist cylinder from a direct-acting steering cylinder.
Stroke and reference lengthsStroke plus retracted and extended mounting-centre dimensionsDefines available linkage travel and helps avoid binding or over-travel.
Mounting interfacesBracket layout, hole or pin sizes, widths, centres and orientationAllows the cylinder to be checked against the existing chassis and linkage points.
Rod-end adjustmentThread size, adjustment range, locknut position and installed setting where applicableSupports correct linkage geometry and centring during replacement.
Ports and circuitPort thread, position, hose routing, fluid and available pressureConfirms connection compatibility and the circuit information needed for review.
OEM and replacement inquiries

From Your Drawing or Sample to a Reviewed Configuration

Drawing-based OEM configuration

Share the steering arrangement and approved cylinder drawing. We can review stroke, reference lengths, mounts, rod-end details, ports and the required installation orientation as one configuration.

Replacement matching

If a drawing is unavailable, send the existing part number, clear photos and measured interfaces. We will identify any missing truck, linkage or hydraulic details that still need confirmation.

What to include in your RFQ

  • Forklift model and steering-assist function
  • 2D drawing or complete measured sample dimensions
  • Mounting brackets, rod-end thread and travel
  • Port details, hose routing, operating environment and quantity

Installation checks

Inspect brackets, fasteners, linkage joints, hoses and available clearance as well as the cylinder. Wear or misalignment outside the cylinder can affect centring and steering movement after installation.

Send your steering booster cylinder detailsInclude a drawing or measured sample so we can review fit, assist function and hydraulic connections before quotation.

Buyer questions

Forklift Steering Booster Cylinder FAQ

What does a forklift steering booster cylinder do?

It supplies hydraulic assistance to a steering linkage, reducing the mechanical effort required to move the linkage. The exact arrangement varies by truck, so confirm the original function and circuit.

Is a steering booster cylinder the same as a steering cylinder?

Not always. A booster cylinder assists an existing steering mechanism, while a direct-acting steering cylinder may move the axle linkage itself. Match the function, not only the name.

Which dimensions are needed for a replacement?

Provide stroke, retracted and extended mounting-centre dimensions, bracket and hole sizes, rod-end thread and adjustment, port threads and positions, plus clear installation photos.
