PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
  • It is compatible with various aerial work platforms such as scissor lifts, telescopic booms, and articulated booms. The bore diameter, rod diameter, and stroke can be customized according to the platform tonnage. The rated working pressure is 15–25 MPa, and the peak pressure can reach 32 MPa, meeting the stringent safety requirements for heavy-duty lifting, telescopic, and luffing operations at height.
  • The cylinder is made of high-strength alloy steel with a precision-honed seamless tube to ensure high inner wall smoothness and low friction resistance. Combined with fully automatic robotic welding, post-weld stress relief treatment, and non-destructive testing, it has high structural strength, impact resistance, and deformation resistance. It can maintain leak-free operation under long-term, high-frequency lifting and luffing conditions, lift smoothly without shaking, and has excellent fatigue durability.
  • The piston rod is made of 45# / 40Cr alloy steel and comes standard with hard chrome plating. It also offers a variety of anti-corrosion and wear-resistant strengthening solutions, such as Ni/Cr electroplating, QPQ salt bath composite treatment, and laser cladding. It is suitable for complex outdoor environments such as sun and rain, humidity and dust, and low temperature and extreme cold. It has high hardness, resistance to scratches, and corrosion resistance, which greatly extends its service life.
  • The sealing system can be equipped with imported Hallite / NOK / Trelleborg high-end seals, adopting a multi-layered dustproof + guiding + buffer sealing structure to effectively resist rainwater and dust intrusion, and resist pollution and aging. Explosion-proof valves, balance valves, overflow valves, one-way locks, hydraulic oil pipes, and other safety components can be designed according to requirements to ensure smooth and controllable lifting, telescopic, and luffing operations, eliminating the risks of working at height.
  • Designed to withstand temperatures from -30 °C to +120 °C, high and low temperature hydraulic cylinders can be customized for special working conditions such as high-altitude and cold regions and high-temperature construction sites, adapting to various extreme outdoor working environments.
Mobile platform steering

Match the Steering Cylinder to the Axle Linkage

An aerial lift steering cylinder moves the steering linkage on a mobile work platform. Its stroke and centre position must correspond with the axle geometry so the wheels reach the required left and right angles without forcing the cylinder or tie-rod beyond their working travel.

We review the cylinder as part of your steering system. Send the platform model, axle or linkage drawing, steering angles and hydraulic information so we can check reference lengths, mounts, ports and available installation space before quotation.

  • Mobile scissor lifts and compact work platforms
  • Self-propelled telescopic and articulated boom platforms
  • Drawing-based OEM projects and measured replacement matching

Selection guide

Define Steering Travel, Centre Position and Mounts

Do not select a replacement from bore and stroke alone. The steering linkage and the cylinder must reach their limits together without bottoming, over-extension or side load.

What We Check from Your Drawing or Measured Sample

New platform or axle project

Share the axle and steering-linkage drawings, target wheel angles, available pressure and installation envelope. We can review stroke, centre position, reference lengths, brackets, ports and rod-end interfaces as one configuration.

Replacement matching

If an approved drawing is unavailable, remove the cylinder and send its part number, clear installation photos and measurements at centre and both steering limits. We will identify missing dimensions before quotation.

RFQ data to include

  • Platform and axle model plus steering layout
  • 2D drawing or complete sample measurements
  • Wheel angles, linkage geometry and available pressure
  • Mounts, ports, rod ends, environment and quantity

Checks before installation

Inspect pins, brackets, steering arms, tie-rods and axle pivots as well as the cylinder. Wear or bent linkage can change the required travel and introduce side load into a new cylinder.

Send us your aerial lift steering dataInclude an axle drawing or measured sample so we can review travel, centre position, interfaces and hydraulic connections.

Buyer questions

Aerial Lift Steering Cylinder FAQ

Why is the straight-ahead centre position important?

It establishes the cylinder travel available to the left and right. Confirm centre and both lock positions so the linkage, not the cylinder ends, defines the steering limits.

What measurements are needed for replacement matching?

Provide total stroke, rod positions at centre and both locks, overall reference lengths, bracket spacing, rod-end details, port information, bore and rod diameters, and clear installed photos.

Is this the same as a forklift steering assist cylinder?

No. This page covers chassis-steering cylinders for mobile aerial work platforms. A forklift steering assist cylinder works with a forklift steering linkage and has a separate selection intent.
