PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
  • Compatible with 1–16 ton reach trucks including EP Equipment, Noblelift and other brands. Bore: 40–100 mm, rod diameter: 28–50 mm, rated working pressure: 9–16 MPa, maximum stroke up to 12000 mm. Full custom specifications available.
  • Cylinder barrel adopts seamless #20 steel with precision honing. Robotic full automatic welding delivers long-term leak-free performance under high-frequency reciprocating operation, featuring outstanding fatigue resistance.
  • Piston rod is manufactured from #45 steel with hard chrome plating. Multiple anti-corrosion & wear-resistant surface treatments are optional, including Ni/Cr electroplating, laser cladding and QPQ, adapting to humid, heavy-load and other harsh working environments.
  • Support customized matching of hydraulic pumps, explosion-proof valves, hydraulic hoses and other accessories. Standard operating temperature: -25°C ~ +110°C. We also develop custom reach cylinders for extreme high/low temperature applications.
Forklift reach mechanism

Forklift Reach Cylinder for Controlled Forward and Return Travel

A forklift reach cylinder(also known as a forward cylinder) pushes the reach carriage toward racking and retracts it back within the truck frame. Its mounting centres, stroke and retracted length must align with the linkage geometry, ensuring the carriage reaches target load positions without bottoming out or mechanical interference.

For aftermarket replacement and OEM projects, the cylinder must be specified alongside the full reach mechanism. Pin dimensions, port orientation, working pressure, hose routing and load paths all impact fit and consistent performance within narrow warehouse aisle environments.

  • Reach truck carriage extend & retraction
  • Drawing-supported OEM design & aftermarket replacement matching
  • Custom review of mounts, ports, seals and dimensions to suit real installation

Dimensions and Hydraulic Details to Confirm

Do not select a replacement by bore and stroke alone. Confirm the cylinder against the truck, linkage and hydraulic circuit before ordering.

ParameterWhat to provideWhy it matters
Bore and rod diameterMeasured sizes or approved drawingRelates to available force, return force, stability and fit within the mechanism.
Stroke and lengthsStroke, pin-to-pin closed length and extended lengthControls reach travel and prevents over-travel, bottoming or rack-side interference.
Mounting interfacesEye or clevis type, pin diameters, widths, centers and alignmentEnsures the load remains axial and the cylinder fits the existing brackets.
Ports and pressurePort thread, position, working/peak pressure, flow and hose clearanceSupports connection compatibility, travel speed and safe hose routing.
Seals and environmentFluid, temperature, duty cycle, dust, moisture and storage conditionsGuides seal and surface-treatment discussion for the operating environment.
OEM and replacement inquiries

From an Existing Sample or Drawing to a Confirmed Configuration

Drawing-based OEM customization

Share the machine model, reach geometry and approved dimensions. Bore, rod, stroke, retracted/extended length, mounts, pins, ports, cushioning and seal requirements can then be reviewed as one configuration.

Replacement cylinder matching

If a drawing is unavailable, provide the existing part number, clear photos and measured interfaces. A replacement still requires confirmation of hydraulic pressure, function and all installation dimensions.

RFQ information

  • Truck or attachment model and cylinder function
  • 2D drawing, sample dimensions or clear photos
  • Pressure, fluid, cycle frequency and environment
  • Port details, hose routing and required quantity

Maintenance and failure risk

Inspect pins, bushings, rod surface, seals, ports and hoses. Side loading from worn linkage, contaminated oil, damaged rod surfaces or loose mounts can accelerate leakage and uneven travel.

Buyer questions

Reach Cylinder FAQ

Is a forward cylinder the same as a forklift reach cylinder?

In reach-truck applications, both names commonly describe the cylinder that extends and retracts the reach carriage. Confirm the actual machine function and linkage when requesting a quote.

What dimensions are essential for a replacement?

Confirm bore, rod diameter, stroke, closed and extended pin-to-pin lengths, mount type, pin sizes, clevis widths, port threads and port positions.

Can a cylinder be matched from a sample?

A sample can support measurement, but operating pressure, function, installation orientation and acceptance requirements should also be documented before an approved replacement drawing is released.
