PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
  • It is compatible with various aerial work platforms such as scissor lifts, telescopic booms, and articulated booms. The bore diameter, rod diameter, and stroke can be customized according to the platform tonnage. The rated working pressure is 15-25 MPa, and the peak pressure can reach 32 MPa, meeting the stringent safety requirements for heavy-duty lifting, telescopic, and luffing operations at height.
  • The cylinder is fabricated from high-strength alloy steel with precision-honed seamless tubes, ensuring exceptional inner wall smoothness and low friction resistance. Combined with fully automatic robotic welding, post-weld stress relief treatment and non-destructive testing, it has high structural strength, impact resistance and deformation resistance. It can maintain a leak-free operation under long-term high-frequency lifting and luffing conditions, lift smoothly without shaking, and has excellent fatigue durability.
  • The piston rod is made of 45#/40Cr alloy steel and comes standard with hard chrome plating. It also offers a variety of anti-corrosion and wear-resistant strengthening solutions, such as Ni/Cr electroplating, QPQ salt bath composite treatment, and laser cladding. It is suitable for complex outdoor environments—including weathering, high humidity, dust contamination, and extreme cold—the rod features high surface hardness, scratch resistance, and superior corrosion resistance, drastically extending its service life.
  • The sealing system can be equipped with imported Hallite/NOK/Trelleburg high-end seals, adopting a multi-layered dustproof + guiding + buffer sealing structure to effectively resist rainwater and dust intrusion, and resist pollution and aging. Explosion-proof valves, balance valves, overflow valves, one-way locks, hydraulic oil pipes and other safety components can be designed according to requirements to ensure smooth and controllable lifting, telescopic and luffing operations, eliminating the risks of working at height.
  • Designed to withstand temperatures from -30 °C to +120 °C, high and low temperature hydraulic cylinders can be customized for special working conditions such as high-altitude and cold regions and high-temperature construction sites, adapting to various extreme outdoor working environments.
Work-platform motion

An Aerial Lift Cylinder Matched to the Platform Mechanism

An aerial lift cylinder can raise a scissor stack, change boom angle, extend a telescopic section or position a platform, depending on the machine. Those functions place different demands on stroke, installed length, rod stability, mounting geometry and the hydraulic control circuit.

We review the cylinder together with your mechanism. Send the machine model, cylinder function, drawing and load information so we can check the interfaces that govern movement and fit before quotation.

  • Scissor-lift raising and lowering
  • Telescopic- and articulated-boom lifting, extension or luffing
  • Drawing-based OEM configurations and measured replacement matching

Selection guide

Define Motion, Geometry and Load Before Selecting the Cylinder

A matching outside diameter is not enough. We need the installed geometry and worst operating condition to review an aerial work platform lifting cylinder.

ItemWhat you should provideWhat it establishes
Machine and cylinder functionPlatform type, machine model and whether the cylinder lifts, telescopes, luffs, levels or stabilizesSeparates cylinders that may look similar but act in different mechanisms and circuits.
Installed geometryStroke, closed and open pin-centre lengths, mounting orientation, available envelope and interference pointsDefines the required travel and helps us check for bottoming, over-extension and installation conflicts.
Load through the linkagePlatform and payload data, pivot dimensions, operating angles, force direction and the worst load caseProvides the basis for reviewing bore, rod and buckling conditions through the full movement.
Mounting interfacesEye, clevis or trunnion details; pin diameters, widths, offsets, bearings and bracket dimensionsAllows both ends to be checked against the actual structure rather than a nominal product family.
Hydraulic circuitWorking pressure, port thread and position, hose clearance, fluid, valve-block interface and holding requirementConfirms the connections and circuit information needed to review controlled movement and load holding.

What We Check from Your Drawing or Measured Sample

New platform or OEM project

Share the platform linkage, cylinder drawing, force data and hydraulic schematic. We can review the cylinder envelope, reference lengths, mounts, ports and required operating position as one configuration.

Replacement matching

If the approved drawing is unavailable, send the existing part number, clear installation photos and measurements from the removed cylinder. We will identify any missing interface or circuit details before quotation.

RFQ data to include

  • Machine and platform type plus the cylinder function
  • 2D drawing or complete measured sample dimensions
  • Worst-case load, linkage positions and available pressure
  • Mounts, ports, valve interface, environment and quantity

Checks before installation

Inspect pins, bushings, brackets, hoses and adjacent structures as well as the cylinder. Wear or misalignment in the mechanism can side-load a replacement and change the intended platform movement.

Buyer questions

Aerial Lift Cylinder FAQ

Can one cylinder design fit every aerial work platform?

No. A scissor lift, articulated boom and telescopic boom use different linkage geometry, reference lengths, load paths and circuits. Match the cylinder to the actual machine and function.

What measurements are needed for a replacement?

Provide stroke, closed and open pin-centre lengths, both mounting ends, pin sizes, body and rod diameters, port details, installed orientation and clear photos of the cylinder in the machine.

Is this the same as a forklift lift cylinder?

No. This page covers cylinders for aerial work platforms. A forklift lift cylinder raises a mast or carriage and has a different machine intent, geometry and selection path.
