PRODUCT
DESCRIPTION
  • It is compatible with various construction machinery and equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, and road rollers. A full range of bore diameter, rod diameter, and stroke specifications are available, and the working pressure can reach up to 28 MPa. It also supports customization for various non-standard sizes and special working conditions.
  • The cylinder barrel is fabricated from premium 20# steel precision-honed seamless tubing, offering high inner wall precision and strong wear resistance. It adopts a fully automated robotic welding process, ensuring an overall structure that is stable and impact-resistant. It can perfectly adapt to high-frequency, heavy-load, and bumpy reciprocating operations on construction sites. It prevents leakage even after long-term use, ensuring a long and stable service life.
  • The piston rod is made of 45# steel base material and comes standard with hard chrome plating. It also offers a variety of anti-corrosion and wear-resistant processes such as nickel-chromium electroplating, QPQ treatment, and laser cladding. It effectively resists outdoor dust, mud, water, and sun corrosion, features excellent resistance to scratches and wear, and is suitable for various harsh construction environments.
  • We can customize balance valves, explosion-proof valves, hydraulic pipelines, and installation accessories according to customer needs. The normal operating temperature is -25 °C to +110 °C, and we can also provide customization for special working conditions such as extreme high and low temperatures to meet the engineering operation needs of different regions around the world.
Outrigger beam extension

Move the Outrigger Beam Out and Back into the Chassis

A horizontal outrigger cylinder extends a telescoping outrigger beam away from a crane or construction-equipment chassis and retracts it into the transport envelope. It positions the beam before the vertical support leg applies ground load; it is not the cylinder that jacks or levels the machine.

We review your cylinder with the beam guides and chassis structure. Send us the machine model, beam layout, stroke, retracted and extended reference lengths, mounting interfaces and hydraulic information so we can identify the details that control fit and travel.

  • Horizontal extension and retraction of telescoping outrigger beams
  • Drawing-based OEM configurations and measured replacement matching
  • Review of reference lengths, anchors, ports and hose clearance

Define Beam Travel, Guide Alignment and Installation Lengths

A matching stroke does not prove that a replacement will fit inside the outrigger box, retain the intended beam overlap or clear the hoses at both ends of travel. Provide the complete installation data before ordering.

ItemWhat you should provideWhat it establishes
Machine and outrigger layoutMachine model, outrigger style, cylinder location, beam sections and installed orientationConfirms that the inquiry is for horizontal beam movement rather than boom luffing or vertical chassis support.
Travel and reference lengthsStroke, retracted and extended mounting-centre lengths, usable beam travel, overlap and end clearancesDefines whether the beam reaches its working position and retracts within the transport envelope.
Beam guides and resistanceGuide-pad arrangement, beam mass, expected extension force, operating slope and known binding pointsSeparates normal axial demand from resistance caused by worn guides, distortion or misalignment.
Mounting interfacesAnchor and rod-end type, pin diameters, widths, offsets, threads and access for assemblyAllows both ends to be checked against the chassis and telescoping beam structure.
Hydraulic connectionsWorking and peak pressure, fluid, port thread and position, flow, hose path and available clearanceConfirms connection compatibility and hose movement through the full stroke.
Duty and environmentCycle pattern, temperature, dust, mud, water, salt exposure and storage orientationGuides review of seals, wipers, rod finish and external protection for your operating conditions.

What We Check from Your Drawing or Removed Cylinder

New outrigger system

Share the chassis and beam drawings, travel sequence, expected extension force and hydraulic schematic. We can review the cylinder envelope, reference lengths, mounts, ports and hose routing as one configuration.

Replacement matching

If the approved drawing is unavailable, send the existing part number, clear installation photos and complete measurements from the removed cylinder. We will flag any missing guide, anchor or circuit detail before quotation.

RFQ data to include

  • Machine model and exact outrigger-beam function
  • 2D drawing or complete measured sample dimensions
  • Stroke, closed length, open length and beam travel
  • Mounts, ports, pressure, hose routing, environment and quantity

Checks around the cylinder

Inspect the beam, guide pads, rollers, anchors and hose carriers. Worn guides or a distorted telescoping box can increase sliding resistance, change alignment and side-load a replacement cylinder.

Send us your horizontal outrigger dataInclude the beam drawing or measured sample so we can review travel, reference lengths, mounts and hydraulic connections before quotation.

Buyer questions

Horizontal Outrigger Cylinder FAQ

What does a horizontal outrigger cylinder do?

It moves a telescoping outrigger beam outward from the chassis and retracts it for transport. The beam guides carry transverse loads while the cylinder supplies controlled axial movement.

Is it the same as a boom luffing cylinder?

No. A boom luffing cylinder changes boom angle and working radius. A horizontal outrigger cylinder changes the reach of the chassis outrigger beam.

What information is needed for a replacement?

Provide the machine model, stroke, retracted and extended mounting-centre lengths, both end interfaces, ports, pressure, hose routing, beam-guide details and clear installed photos. You can also browse the construction machinery cylinder range.
